You may have heard various causes of high blood pressure, but you may
still not be sure yet. Well, these 3 facts are scientifically proven so
you should not be doubtful.
1. Those who live in less polluted places have lower blood pressure
According
to a research by the University of Dusiburg-Essen, Germany, those who
live in urban areas with high air pollution tend to have higher blood
pressure than those who live in less polluted neighborhood.
This
study may clarify why people living in areas that are highly polluted
have higher risk to get cardiovascular diseases such as stroke and heart
attack. Beside polluted air, constant exposure to noise as a result of
living in busy urban areas may also contribute to higher blood pressure.
Try to avoid exposure to air pollution as best as you can.
2. Those who are more active physically have lower blood pressure
In
the previous blog post, it has been mentioned that one of the many ways
to lower blood pressure naturally is by being more active physically.
The
scientific reason behind this fact is that being more active may
decrease the effects of salt, since excessive salt intake can increase
blood pressure according to a research from the American Heart
Association Nutrition. That is why you are recommended to increase
physical activities and reduce salt consumption.
3. Negative emotions can increase blood pressure
First
of all, when you are having negative emotions you tend to pay less
attention to take care of yourself. For example, you may not be careful
of what you eat and you may even drink more alcohol, smoke, or do other
unhealthy activities that can contribute to high blood pressure.
As
an addition, having negative emotions or being stressed out also tend
to narrow the arteries so that the blood pressure will increase.
According to a study, people who are having a stress tend to increase
the level of cortisol, a chemical substance produced that can narrow the
arteries.
Therefore, always try to not be stressed out all the time and just enjoy this beautiful life that God has given :-)
